Module - 1: Concept of Drawing and automotive designing


Elements of Art: Line, Form, Balance, Texture, three dimensional practices, Basic drawing, Tool of sketching, Free Hand Drawing, Ideation, Shaping and Communication, Object to sketching conversion, Car drawing, Final touch and finishing.


Design Context: Design Overview, Automotive sketching and rendering, Making simple parts with clay, Making Automotive parts with clay, Scale down complete model making with Industrial clay.


Clear concept of Drawing, making Template, Projection Symbol, Angle of projection, Drawing abbreviations, Scale factor, Sectioning, projection View.

Module - 2: Digital Modelling

2.1: 2D DRAFTING (AutoCAD):

Introduction to CAD, Scaling, Rotating, Hatching/gradient, Array, Dimensioning, Layer concepts and keyboard commands.


2.2.1: CATIAV5: Sketcher, Part Design, Assembly, GSD,DMU Kinematics, Drafting, Sheet Metal Design, NC Manufacturing

2.2.2: SOLIDWORKS: Sketch, Solid Modelling, Assembly, Drafting, Sheet Metal Design.

2.2.3: CREO PARAMETRIC: Creo Part Design, Creo Assembly, Sheet Metal, Rendering, Core & Cavity.

2.2.4: NX CAD/CAM: 2D sketch, Part Design, Mould Cavity design, Planner milling, Countour milling, CAM of cavity.


2.3.1: Need for Mechanical factor analysis, Introduction to ANSYS, Tools used for analysis, importing and exporting a CAD file, File format conversion (CAD to IGES), Stress and other factors analysis

Module - 3: Industrial Quality


Introduction to Basic measuring Instruments, Basic Gauges, use of instruments, least count calculations.

3.2 Limit, fit, tolerance:

Reasons for Tolerance, types of tolerance, basic of limit & fit, relation in between tolerance, limit &fit, types of fits and their application

3.3 GD&T:

Need of geometrical tolerances, types of GD&T symbols, Datum, practical measurement, Drawing application

3.4 Roughness:

Roughness grades, roughness symbol, basic of lay pattern, basic machine tools and their roughness. 3.5 5’s theory, Kai-Zen’s theory, DOWNTIME, waste Management, route card.

Module - 4: Automotive theory and component Training


Introduction to Automobiles, History and Classification Of Automobiles, Different Parts Of An Automobile, Engines, Fuel Supply Systems, Lubrication System, Cooling Systems, Chassis and Transmission, Transmission system, Steering and axles, braking System,ElectricalSystems,MaintenanceandTroubleshooting,AutomotivePollutionAndControl.


Components training at Ashok Leyland, YAMAHA, Hyundai Lab- Engine, Transmission, Suspension, Chassis, Breaking system, Tyre & etc by dismantling and assembly of models. Hands on Practice of dismantling and assembly of automotive components.(Hands-on overhauling & maintenance trainings Training will be provided at Ashok Leyland lab, Hyundai lab, Yamaha lab)

MODULE-5: Manufactuing Process-CNC


Engineering Drawing Fundamental & Practice, Limit Fit Tolerances, Basic Manufacturing Process, Engineering materials & heat treatment, Sheet metal & Manufacturing Process, Manufacturing Process: Non-conventional machine, GD & T, Product design life cycle, Product life cycle, Reverse Engineering.


Advantages and disadvantages of CNC over Conventional, CNC Controllers, Co-ordinate geometry, FANUC and SEIMENS controller basics, CNC turning: Operations in CNC Lathe, CNC Milling: Operations in CNC milling, Specialized robotic CNC machines, machining practices.

MODULE: 6: Baisc Electrical, Electronics, Industrial Robotics & IOT

6.1 Electrical and Electronics Basic:

Basics about Diode, Relay, Capacitor, Resistor, fuses, circuit connections, different circuits of vehicle, transformer, AC current, DC current, etc and its application in the automobile.

6.2 Industrial robotics, Industrial IoT and Automation:

Basics of Robotics & IoT, circuit design using bread board, Installation of Arduino, Basic embedded Programming with Digital o/p, IR sensor programming, Line follower robot, Relay connection, home automation, ultrasonic sensor interface, Create a own server and controlled through Local N/W, Wifi Robot, Send sensor data to Cloud, Introduction of IoT using cloud etc

MODULE: 7: Major Project (As per Industry Requirement)

All students are required to complete and submit their major project which will be based on industry requirement. The projects may be from designing, manufacturing or a new R & D product.

N:B: Institution shall take the decision for the Major Project and will divide the groups as per students interest and industry requirement.

MODULE: 8: On Job Training

Students will be sent to various industries for on job training as intern based on their scores and merit list. Other students will be sent for Maintenance and troubleshooting training to our partner dealers and sites.

(Note: The above mentioned course structures are based on existing partnering industry requirements. The syllabus is subjected to up-gradation or revision in times when required by any new or existing placement partners.)


After 8 months of training, selected students will undergo 4-5 months of internship period where they will develop new prototypes, work on running projects or work on development of new project.

(Selected students will be given opportunity for the paid internship program only. Other students will attend their series of placement drives and join industries after selection)

Who Can Apply?

  • B- Tech or BE Graduates- Automobile, Mechanical or Related branches.
  • Final year students of Diploma or B-tech or BE.
  • Diploma degree holders Automobile, Mechanical or Related branches.
  • Working professionals in related field.
  • If anyone having a good profile in the domain but not a Diploma or B-tech graduate. (In such cases placement assistance may not be provided)

Selection criteria:

  • A student having at least 60% in all or one of the 10th or +2 or ITI or Diploma exams.
  • Minimum 60% CGPA or percentage in their B-tech or BE or Diploma till last exam.
  • Not more than 5 back logs.
  • Minimum communications skills and minimum technical knowledge. Telephonic interview will be conducted after receiving the applications.
  • Graduate students of 2017 or above. (In case a student who has graduated in 2016 or previous years can apply and pursue the course, but we shall not give any commitment of placement to those students)

Process of Application & Admission:

  • First students have to fill our application form available in our website in PGDC course section or directly can upload their updated CV. (Link)
  • Our career counsellor will review the application and send a mail the confirmation of 1st round of selection based on eligibility to selected students.
  • Next round will be telephonic interview of the selected candidates where senior career counsellor will take the interview and screen the selected students.
  • After eliminations of students, they shall select best and competent 40 students for the batch of PGDC on automotive designing and manufacturing.
  • Once a student gets selected in both the process an E-mail confirmation will be sent to the students with admission link. Student has to fill his complete details for admission in the link and pay the admission fee amount of 5300 within 24 hour of time.
  • Once the students pay the admission fee, they will get a confirmation letter of admission over mail within 3-4 hours.
  • If any of the students did not get selected in any of the 2 processes but have potential to join our training program, they will be kept in waitlisted list.
  • Waitlisted students: Who ever fail to meet the criteria but have potential to be a part of the prestigious PGDC program, will be listed in our waitlisted students list. The list will be updated every week and waitlisted students will be confirmed about his admission status within a week of time.
  • If a student is in waitlisted list, first the career counsellor will call the student and let him know about their wait listing. If he/she agrees to proceed, then a mail will be sent to pay the registration fee in just 24 hours. If a waitlisted student fails to get admission, we shall refund the full registration fee by 2-3 working days to his bank account.
